INSPIRATION | SIMPLE LIFE
finding my way back to you
I’ve been off on a tangent, and finding my way back to being here with you has been difficult.
Everytime I sit down to write a post it feels like I’ve been away too long, how will I catch up, what will I share, yet like an old friend here you are. Thank you for that, the responses to the little survey I sent out were both a kick up the rear end and a reaffirmation that this is where I need to be.
Sometimes life becomes a struggle even when creating a ‘Simple Life’….. it’s been a bit like that for us lately. We seem a bit fractured, drifting away in opposite directions, every word becomes a misunderstanding. Off on a tangent.
I write about creating a Simple Life and yet I’m basically feeling burnt out and a little bit lost.
I feel a need to eat well, drink lots of water, breathe deeply, sleep well and walk in the sunshine.
I am slowly embracing a new rhythm and beginning to recreate the outline of our Simple Life and it feels good.
I have so many projects and ideas in my head, I’ve been off on a tangent learing (which I love) about ‘branding’ and ‘e – courses’ and driving myself mad trying to redesign the website, create two new websites, and oh yes enjoy life, play with the kids and get myself to Tai Chi once a week.
Although I have no idea how this will all work out or which project I’ll work on first (think it’s a Gemini thing lol) my priority right now is to reconnect with my husband, enjoy the sunshine and play with my kids.
Pulling my hair out online has helped me realise that the most important thing is our family. Making sure we’re ok is my first priority. Everything else is a bonus.
So it’s time to take stock, look at all we’ve accomplished and set some new goals for the year.
I’ll catch you up on all that has been happening here at Borgata Malpertus over the next few weeks, I hope everything is well with you and I’m looking forward to getting back in the groove, catch ya later, with love as always…..
and the gang x
I enjoy reading about all your adventures, but I never think your life sounds simple. I know from experience how hard it is to collect, store and heat a home entirely on firewood. I find maintaining a vegetable garden hard work, and don’t get me started on animal husbandry! My life is much more simple since I eradicated these activities from my life!!
Bugger !!!!! welcome back ‘Cara’ xxx 🙂
I’ve missed you Welcome back ‘cars’ xx
Lisa, I feel like your gemelli – an Aussie about the same age, (a Gemini!), with similiar passions and interests in our Borghi.
I’ve missed your posts and updates, I like to see how the kids and Sam are sharing your love of the simple pleasures of seasonal change and community.
Keep in touch, when you can, between the new school year, preparation for winter and looking after yourself with time, water and good food.
When you start doubting yourself, remember how far you have come. Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome.
Your honesty is refreshing – and mirrors my life.
Oh thanks Anne, I sometimes worry that I share too much lol x
I think your vulnerability is beautiful. It’s a gift to the world. Truly! Too often people feel they need to be perfect before they can use their voice. But perfection is an illusion.
I’m so glad you feel like you’re finding your way back. I think the online courses etc for building online business are a big distraction to people and are just people playing to the anxieties of others and earning money from that. Oh that may sound awful!! I agree with what the marketing lady above wrote. Her advice is brilliant.
I am currently back at Uni retraining. Completing a masters in social work. Something I’ve come to understand is just how we are all influenced by the values of our culture and for all of us in the western world capitalism reigns supreme. It’s interesting to regularly reflect on how this shapes our thoughts.
The ‘simple life’ is really a turning away from that incessant drive. So I hope you are able to find a balance that brings the income you need to live, whilst living in the moment. Accepting the highs and lows that come along with a real life.
I adore your stories of daily life and your genuineness as you share.
From one Gemini to another your doing a great job.
Oh you made me laugh,….. xxx love it!
It’s a Gemini thing hey x
Love your hair LONG……………….

Hello Lisa,
It’s really good hearing from you again and with a new update on your family. You are doing such a great job while keeping us informed of your life in Italy. I enjoy reading all of your writings and love the pictures you post! Take care of yourself.
Oh thanks for that Heather, it’s been a while I know since I did an update. I’m easing back into things lol xx
much love lisa
Good to know you’re settling down okay…
Thanks Daniel x
Hello, Lisa: From what i have seen, and what I know of you and the family, you’ve done an awesome job of caring for that most important thing. And you’re right – the moms usually get tugged at and pummelled and bruised emotionally. Thanks for keeping ALL of us connected. I’m glad to hear you’re getting some time over in Venice. Send photos, if you can. We all miss you. Hope to see you soon! xoxo
LOL how funny to be writing this on Mothers Day, not a single bit of fuss for Mum today, still that’s become the norm lol
Looking forward to a break in Venice and being able to show the kids a bit of Italy. We’ll all be taking lots of pics i’m sure, much love to you and the family!!! lisa and the gang
Lisa, I am a Gemini too. I also have a lot of irons in the fire too. I thought it was just me! So, at least, I am in good company. It is good to hear from you again and what is going on. Yes, family is important!
We Geminis have to stick together Mary, always a million things on the go right xxx
Greetings from Sydney! Good to see you back Lisa, keep on keeping on 🙂
Oh G’day to you in Sydney Susan, xxx
Hang in there, Lisa!
Hanging in by the fingernails Kelly xxx
I worked in marketing and PR for decades. You can easily get all wrapped up in the hype (they *are* marketers, after all!) and “to do” lists generated by all the ideas. The best thing I found is to know who you want to talk to and find the media channel that audience uses most. Write to your audience – don’t try to find another one! You’ll grow organically. Technology can eat you alive! I’m sure most of us who read your blog just enjoy your day-to-day activities, hearing about your husband’s projects and kids successes, and pictures of your beautiful, evolving home. Just breathe that wonderful Italian air for me!!!!
Oh Hannah I get so overwhelmed with it all, I see so many achieving the things I’d like to achieve here and I get tied up with the tech side lol. I think I need to just get back to basics sharing what I love and our life here. Menopause also hit me for a six, depression I never expected but got it sorted with the GP here, I ofen feel like I can’t share when things are ‘down’ rather than the perfect ‘simple life’ silly I know….thanks for your sharing and technology is no longer going to ‘eat me alive’ back to enjoying it all xxx much love lisa
Lisa you are an ispiration, keep it up 💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝💝
Oh Mary that’s so lovely thank you xxxx
