INSPIRATION
Making Friends
If there is one thing I have learned about children it’s that they love learning, and they just want to be with you! One of the many wonderful benefits of traveling with our children has been “finding time” for us as a family, and lots of it.
While renovating our Italian farmhouse in the mountains we were together as a family every day for two years. The only time we were separated was when I once ended up in hospital overnight. This new life in Italy was a time for us all to bond. It was father and daughter time, time to teach new skills. A time for mum to step back, and watch them giggling away together.
Moving away from our complicated lives gave us back to each other.
We had no TV, hardly any toys, simple clothes, and yet we had so much more than we ever expected. A far simpler life.
Our children make friends in any language… it’s something I like to call “Love Learning”

That is amazing how well you guys were!! To spend that much together, it would have been fun – love how you lived the simple lifestyle yet you had so much fun together. That is what is so important in life – time together!
Love your photos!
Cheers

Lots of fun and we never knew what the next day would bring (or who). We really had next to nothing (apart from what friends gave us and the few things that came with the house). I always hesitate to show our photos as we are certainly not glamorous by any stretch of the imagination. You know what I mean, I bet people have an image of your family and the bus that is different to the reality. We lived in two rooms for eight months while doing the reno’s and traveling about. Best of times….
so loved your post, and sending extra love to your sickie!
ciao lisa
